Yellow Bird Magnolia Tree
Yellow Bird Magnolia Tree
The Yellow Bird Magnolia (Magnolia acuminata 'Yellow Bird') displays brilliant yellow flowers that will brighten up your yard during the late Spring or summer seasons.
The canary yellow 3 1/2" flowers appear more dependably since they emerge with the foliage late in the spring after the danger of frosts. An upright pyramidal ornamental tree is one of the more attractive and rarest members of the magnolia family with large fragrant, dinner-plate sized blooms with a delicious fragrance. Yellow Bird Magnolia is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings or to line a drive or walkway in sunny to partially shaded landscape borders and is also nice to frame corners or grow against a large open wall in tall home foundation plantings. Provides welcome shade when planted near patios, low decks and other outdoor living spaces. Can also be grown in large pots, planters and containers of 18 inches or more in rim diameter. A fine addition to yellow theme gardens and cottage gardens.
Prefers full sun to partial shade, grows best in well-drained areas in a very rich soil composition that is high in organic material.
