The Pink Velour Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica 'Whit VIII) is a stunning shrub known for its showy flowers, beautiful bark, fast growth and tolerance of soil conditions. Blooms July–September, producing huge 24" clusters of velvety pink flowers that have wrinkled petals similar to crepe paper. The appeal doesn't stop in the summer, it continuously adds all-season interest with crimson red new growth, unique bark, showy flowers and orange-to-red fall color. Whether you’re looking for a standalone plant or something to incorporate as part of a mixed border, the Crape Myrtle aims to please in all facets of landscaping. This shrub attracts bees and provides bird habitat. They thrive best in hot, sunny climates. Plant 3-5 feet apart to produce a beautiful hedge. This shrub grows at a fast rate, with height increases of up to 5 feet per year.
